

Rojelio F. “Roy” Martinez, 69, of La Feria, Texas, passed away on December 18, 2025. He was born on January 29, 1956, in his home to Manuel Martinez and Guadalupe Flores Martinez.
Roy proudly served his country in the United States Army with courage, dedication, and a deep sense of duty. He enlisted in 1977 and served as a 63C10 Track Vehicle Mechanic. During his service, he earned recognition as a Sharpshooter (M-16 rifle) and First Class Hand Grenades. Roy was honorably discharged in 1980. His military service remained a lifelong source of pride, and he carried the Army’s values—discipline, loyalty, and perseverance—into every part of his life.
A devoted son, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, and uncle, Roy was known for his kindness, strength, sense of humor, and remarkable work ethic. He loved writing, sketching, and painting, and he enjoyed woodworking—always creating, building, and bringing his ideas to life. Roy was generous with his family, siblings, and friends, always willing to help and always giving. He found his greatest joy spending time with his grandchildren and supporting those he loved. He taught by example and leaves behind a legacy of love, integrity, gratitude, and service.
Roy is preceded in death by his mother, Guadalupe F. Martinez; his father, Manuel Martinez; and his brother, Jorge Martinez.
He is survived by his children, Isaac Paul Martinez and Ruby Jean Martinez, and his grandchildren, Skylar Jay, Ava Celeste, and Sonnie Ray. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Elizabeth Martinez.
Roy is also survived by his seven siblings: Noelia (Robert) Dunn, Rosita (Ramiro) Figueroa, Oscar (Olga) Martinez, Gilbert (Mary) Martinez, Rolando (Donna) Martinez, Albert (Stacey) Martinez, and Odelia (Max) Exiga.
Roy will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
A visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 28, 2025, with a celebration of life commencing at 7:00 p.m. at Heavenly Grace Funeral Home & Memorial Park, located at 26873 N. White Ranch Road, La Feria, Texas, 78559.
Visitation will continue on Monday, December 29, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., with a chapel funeral ceremony starting at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park at 11:00 a.m.
Services are under the guidance of Heavenly Grace Funeral Home & Crematory and Heavenly Grace Memorial Park. A Dignity Memorial provider. Services are under the direction of Daniel Roberto Gomez, Crispin Garza FD/Em, Julissa Maldonado FD, and Hailey Rutkowski FD.
