A son, soldier, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather—each a different chapter in his life, each with its own unique role. He was the beloved husband of Enedina Hinojosa, with whom he shared a lifetime of adventure. She stood by his side as he traveled across seas to fight for the country we are fortunate to live in today. Her soldier returned home to her when his chapter as an active serviceman came to an end.
Their next chapter brought them their three beautiful children: Elisa Ibarra, Rick Hinojosa (Lucy) and Marissa Capuchines (Jose Andres). He lived to see them grow into the amazing adults they are today. Each of them brought immense pride to their father, a man who raised them with love, strength, and guidance.
A new chapter began in 2000 when he became a grandfather—welcoming his first grandchild, Jose Andres Capuchines Jr (Abigail Maldonado). Not long after came Kayla Capuchines, his one and only granddaughter, followed by Julio Andres Capuchines . His grandchildren were loved beyond measure, and he made sure they knew it—whether by building them their treehouse or giving them a quick “Hey kid!”. In turn, his grandchildren loved him more than words could ever express.
The final chapter and role he experienced was becoming a great-grandfather to Axel Capuchines and Azael Capuchines. They were blessed to feel the love and affection of their great-grandfather, who remained actively present in their lives—a gift we will be forever grateful for.
In his final days, he was surrounded by those he loved most—his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren—showering him with love and gratitude for the life he gave them.
This is just a small glimpse of who he was and how he will live on in our memories. Seventy-seven wonderful years... full of adventure, family, friends, love, and happiness.
Rest easy, soldier. Your battle has been won.
