Sharon Lucinda Nugent Haraway, 83, of Harlingen, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on May 13, 1942, in Lubbock, Texas, to Jon and Clara Nugent, Sharon graduated from Texas Tech University and went on to serve as a dedicated teacher in the Harlingen school system for 15 years. She touched countless lives through her commitment to education and her warm, nurturing spirit. Sharon opened her home for many years to the community for Bible studies where she shared her love and commitment to Jesus Christ. She married William Jay "Bill" Haraway on April 10, 1968, beginning a loving partnership of over 57 years. She is survived by her devoted husband, Bill Haraway; her only son, William John Haraway; her daughter-in-law, Melanie Haraway, her sister, Pamela Cozby; and her four cherished grandchildren, Jack Haraway, John Haraway, Jillian Haraway, and Jordan Haraway. A memorial service will be held at St. Alban's Episcopal Church in Harlingen on January 19, 2026 at 10:00 AM. The family requests that donations in lieu of flowers be made to Culture of Life Ministries in Harlingen.
