Born in Arkansas City, Kansas to Darlene Ann Brennen and Walter “Shorty” Wadas on July 8, 1963, she had a joyful youth with ambitious dreams.
She graduated from Arkansas City High School in 1981 and Kansas State University with her Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 1986.
Her loyalty as a Kansas State University Alum ran deep, her preferred reference to the rival school's mascot was the “Jay-chickens.”
In Corpus Christi, Texas she pursued another dream; graduating from Del Mar College as a Registered Nurse in 2008, subsequently gaining licensure to practice in the state of Texas.
She worked at Christus Spohn Shoreline in Corpus Christi, Texas as a passionate and dedicated nurse caring for postoperative heart surgery patients.
Shelly also loved to visit Hawai’i, and quite enjoyed the adventures of any and all Disney characters.
Preceded in death by her father, Walter “Shorty” in 2010, She is survived by her mother, Darlene Ann Wadas (nee Brennen), and lived with her in recent years.
Shelly, an exemplary nurse and daughter who spoiled her cats Callie and Mookie; a woman who loved her friends profoundly and without restraint; will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to know her.
Rest in peace our beloved Shelly.
