

Sixto Garcia, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 95, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Mexico, Sixto devoted his life to nurturing both the land and his loved ones. He moved to San Benito, Texas, in 1981, seeking a brighter future and greater opportunities for his family.
Sixto married his beloved wife, Olivia, in 1952, and together they celebrated 72 years of unwavering love and partnership. Their journey began in Mexico, where Sixto worked tirelessly in agriculture, tending to the land and caring for livestock. His green thumb flourished in his garden, where he cultivated beautiful roses, vibrant flowers, and delicious calabazas, chiles, and tomatoes. He was a devout Catholic and had a loyal dedication to the Virgin Mary.
Sixto was a devoted fan of the Houston Astros, spending many afternoons cheering them on. His daily routine included drinking coffee, satisfying his sweet tooth and watching classic Mexican TV shows. He cherished family gatherings, especially during the holidays, where laughter and joy filled the air.
Sixto is survived by his wife, Olivia Garcia; his children Esmeralda Fonseca (Apolonio), Minerva Lugo (+Salvador), Graciela Navarro (Ramon), Sixto Garcia (Raquel), Juana Elia Monjaraz (+Raymundo), Maria Luisa Moreno, Carlos Garcia (Yesenia), and Victor Garcia (Cynthia). His family will carry on his legacy of hard work, love, and dedication to family. His spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
Sixto was preceded in death by his parents Indalecio Garcia and Nicolasa Silva; his daughter Reyna Guadalupe Garcia; his siblings Maria Luisa Salazar, Genoveva Paz, Nicandro Garcia and Prudencio Garcia; his grandson Ramon Navarro Jr., and his great-grandson, Tyler James Ingram.
Sixto is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
A visitation for Sixto will be held Thursday, September 26, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Heavenly Grace Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 26873 N. White Ranch Road, La Feria, Texas 78559. A funeral mass will occur Friday, September 27, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 351 S Bowie Street, San Benito, Texas 78586. A burial will follow at Heavenly Grace Memorial Park, 26873 N. White Ranch Road, La Feria, Texas 78559.
Serving as pallbearers are Sixto Garcia, Carlos Garcia, Victor Garcia, Reymundo Navarro, Alejandro Navarro, Eddie Fonseca, Reymundo Monjaraz, Orlando Lugo and Leonardo Garcia.
