

Steve was born in Pocatello, Idaho, to Darlene Thomasson and Gary Burgon. He grew into a man known for his sharp mind, adventurous spirit, and generous heart. He earned both a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a Master's degree in Computer Science from Southwest Texas State University.
Throughout his professional career, Steve held leadership positions in the telecommunications and networking industry, serving in executive and strategic operations roles with several respected companies, including Ericsson Corporation, PointOne Telecommunications, and Gateway Networks. Later in his career, he shared his love of learning as a mathematics teacher at Wonderland Academy.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Steve's greatest joy came from people and experiences that filled his life. He loved to travel, never met a stranger, and had a remarkable ability to make friends wherever he went. He had a deep love for animals, especially his beloved dogs, whose companionship brought him endless happiness. Those who knew Steve will remember his kindness , warmth, generosity, and willingness to help others.
Steve is survived by his father, Gary Burgon; his sister, Kristi and her husband, Anthony David; his brothers, Patrick Burgon and his wife, AnneMarie; Anthony Burgon and his wife, Catherine; and Gregory Burgon and his companion, Jane; along with many extended family members and dear friends around the world.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Darlene Thomasson, and his sister, Tamera Phillips.
A Celebration of Life will be held via Zoom on July 31, 2026, allowing family and friends from around the globe to gather in remembrance and celebrate Steve's life.
