Tomas G. Perez

Tomas Galvan Perez passed away from this life on October 23, 2023 at the age of 74. He was born and raised in Mercedes, Texas. He spent a lifetime working and building within the local community, including working with his family in construction, worked in maintenance with John Knox Village, and as a bus driver with the Head Start program. After a time in Houston working as a health inspector, he moved back to the Valley to raise his own children who both graduated from Mercedes High School. He enjoyed his family, football, fishing and local politics.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tomas V. and Concepcion Perez, and brothers Raul, Roberto and sister Rosario. He is survived by his wife, Marcela, children Chako (Stacie), Deandra (Kyle) and grandchildren, Alexander, Alayna, and Camilla; as well as his siblings Ismael, Maria del Carmen, Graciela and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 29, 2023 from 2:00pm to 6:00pm at Heavenly Grace Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 26873 N. White Ranch Road, La Feria, Texas 78559.
