It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Yolanda Angulo, who left this world on January 7, 2025, at the age of 61. Yolanda was a woman of deep love and boundless generosity, whose devotion to family, friends, and community was felt by all who knew her.
For 25 years, Yolanda worked as a cook at the Retama, where her culinary talents and warm heart made her a beloved figure to coworkers and patrons alike. She had a special passion for cooking, especially when it came to making pancakes for her family—her pancakes were a symbol of her love, always served with a side of care and joy.
Yolanda was a true caregiver. She spent many years lovingly caring for her parents, always putting their needs before her own, and making sure they were cared for until the very end. Her commitment to those she loved was unwavering, and she was a constant source of support for everyone in her life.
A lover of country music and the country lifestyle, Yolanda took great joy in dressing up in her favorite western attire. She had a vibrant spirit, often dancing to the rhythms of her beloved tunes and embracing the simple pleasures of life. One of those joys was spending time at the beach, where she found peace in the ocean’s waves and the sun’s warmth.
Yolanda’s loyalty extended to her dog Dexter, her faithful Jack Russell Terrier, who was her constant companion and brought her much comfort. Their bond was unbreakable, and Dexter was a reminder of the unconditional love that Yolanda so freely gave.
Above all, Yolanda cherished her sister, Sylvia, who was not only a sibling but her best friend. Together, they shared countless memories, laughed through life’s challenges, and supported each other unconditionally. The bond between them was a testament to the love and devotion that Yolanda carried throughout her life.
Yolanda leaves behind a legacy of kindness, selflessness, and love. She was the heart and soul of every room she entered, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is survived by her siblings Sylvia Vega (Genaro), Carmen Rodriguez (Mario), Arturo Angulo (Rosa), Rafael Angulo, and Martin Angulo Jr., her sister-in-law Gloria Angulo, several nieces and nephews, and countless friends whose lives she touched with her kindness and generosity. She was preceded in death by her parents Martin and Micaela Angulo and her daughter Jacqueline Angulo, and her siblings Baby Arturo Angulo, Graciela Gaytan, and Juan Angulo, whom she cared for so lovingly.
A visitation for Yolanda will occur Monday, January 13, 2025 from 2PM-9PM with a Prayer Mass and Rosary starting at 6PM at Heavenly Grace Funeral Home, 26873 N. White Ranch Road, La Feria, TX 78559.
