Anne Wheeler, 87, went home to dance with Jesus, Sunday, September 20, 2026, at Baptist Hospital East. She was born on June 25, 1939, to Vasco and Nannie Neal. She was full of joy and celebrated life to the extreme. She was a lover of God's creations. She was a light and gave grace to everyone. She loved God and Jesus. She was baptized as a young child at Harrods Creek Baptist Church in Brownsboro. She loved her church family and was an active member of LaGrange Assembly of God for over 30 years. She loved praising the Lord through prayer, gospel and contemporary music. She was a prayer warrior. She was a social butterfly and loved spending time with family and friends. She informally adopted many people as her children and grandchildren along the way. She was always up for an adventure, and you were blessed if you got to be a part of it. She was owner and operator of Anne's Pilot Care Service, "You’re in good Hands with Anne's" She loved traveling and meeting people. She was a member of the Poplar Grove Homemakers, she loved activities at the county extension office and 4H, showing registered Holsteins in her youth, making crafts, painting, sewing, and cooking that lasted throughout her life.
Preceded in death by her parents Vasco and Nannie Neal, husband Bert Wheeler, son Neal Leezer, great granddaughter Aria Morford.
Left to cherish her memory her sister Patsy Eddins (Bill), her uncle James Neal, besties Robin Woosley and Kenny White, the father of children Arvin Leezer, daughters Wendy Smilie (Terry), Nancy West (Jim) Natalie Gernert (Patrick), honorary children Steve Powell (Cindy), Joy Wyatt, Debbie Smith, Perry Smith, Amy Broyles, Jessica Litton, Tommy Lee Fow, Judy Coffman; step- sons, Gary Wheeler, Roger Wheeler and David Wheeler; grandchildren Rebekkah Gernert (Crystal), Jessica Smilie (Collin), Sarah Lynch (John), Ashley Leezer Lindsey (Brent), James West (Heather), Erin Morford (Paul); great-grandchildren, Breely, Isaiah, Gage, Ella, Scott, Jarrid, Luke, Cory, Carson, Alyson, Michael, Emily, Charlee, and many people she considered family along her journey, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
