She was born to the late Alfonse and Guyula Paquin on July 12, 1939 in Washington D.C.
Celeste was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She enjoyed bowling, taking neighborhood walks and participating in dancing competitions as a young woman and dancing with her daughter at the Susan Ina Dance Studio in Maryland as she got older.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister; Jackie Sevachko and brothers; Gene Paquin and Joe Paquin.
Left to cherish the memory of Celeste are her husband of 59 years; Jim Shumar, children; Bill Shumar (Josie) and Joyce DiLonardo (Marc), grandchildren; Jon (Monique), Angelo, Chelsea (Ben), Nick, Christen, Cassie, and Stephen, great-grandchildren; Beckham, Morgan and Ainslee, sister; Charlotte Hammond, extended family and friends.
A memorial mass will be held for Celeste on Wednesday, March 22 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 502 N 5th Ave, LaGrange, KY 40031 at 11am with a memorial gathering starting at 10am until the start of mass at the church.
Memorial donations can be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation in Celeste's name.
