He was a member of the first graduating class from Oldham County High School, where he was a valued basketball player leading them to the state finals. Gayle enjoyed fishing, basketball, and was a member of Highview Baptist Church. He retired from General Electric.
He is predeceased by his wife; Bonnie Manley Lawson.
Left to cherish the memory of Gayle are his daughter; Lisa, her husband; Ed, and their children; Alex and Dawson Simpson, and his son; Charlie, his wife Carolyn, and their children; Chase, Conner, and Carley Lawson, a sister; Bobbie Waits, and a brother; Robert Shearer.
Services to honor the life of Mr. Lawson will be held Saturday, June 6th at 11am at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home in LaGrange, KY with visitation from 5-8pm Friday evening June 5th at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy can be made to Hosparus or Crusade for Children, in lieu of flowers.
