

Throughout her life, Darlene was dedicated to serving her community through her work at several healthcare and educational institutions, including Park DuValle Community Health Center, Lyndon Lane Nursing Home, Georgetown Manor, Jefferson County Adult Educational Center, General Hospital, and New Beginnings. She was also a past member of organizations such as Toastmasters and the Upstreamers.
Darlene had a vibrant spirit and a zest for life. Darlene loved working throughout several ministries within her church. She loved traveling, shopping, listening to music, attending concerts, and enjoying good food. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family.
Darlene leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. She is survived by her beloved husband of 34 years, Otis Eads Jr.; her children, Shaconda Arlene James, Zephaniah Timothy James (Natalya), and Otisa Arenese Eads; and her grandchildren, Jeremiah Matthias James and Zechariah Timothy James. She is also survived by her siblings, George Williams (Cynethia), Jerry Williams (Pamela), Ruby King, and Marita Simmons (Melvin); as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
A private funeral service will be held for Darlene on May 12, 2025.
