I had the honor of serving with Brent in the 8-229th for 10 years. We deployed in 2005 to Iraq together. He was an outstanding NCO. He took care of the Soldiers in the motorpool. He will forever be in our hearts and memories. Brent thank your for all the good times in the motorpool on and off duty. RIP my Brother In Arms. Gone but never forgotten. FLYING TIGERS!!!!ATTACK

I served with Brent in 8/229th, and was so sorry to hear about his passing. Not only was he an extremely knowledgable and enthusiastic leader in the Army, he was more than willing to share his knowledge with those around him. I am sending my love and prayers to the family during this difficult time. We'll see you on the other side brother. Until then, rest easy. 

I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Brent for many years. We’ve spent many days hunting and fishing. He truly loved the outdoors. He was one of the most patriotic men that I’ve known. We helped each other build the houses that we still live in today. He will be missed but the memories will bring smiles forever.

Knowing that you’re not going to be around anymore just doesn’t even seem right or fair, but I know that’s just me being selfish. You were a kind, generous, hard working, and light hearted soul that will be sorely missed cousin. You were there for me so many times growing up and were a rock that was there for me after I lost Dad and I’ll forever be grateful for that.

You gave it all for your family, your country, and your savior. You were a true outdoorsman, were a master of your craft, and the biggest of all the BIG BLUE fans. We’re all going to miss you down here, but we’ll see you real soon bud. Love ya!

Brent was my Battle in Iraq. A truly dependable Soldier and friend. I’ll always remember our hunting and fishing trips when we got home.  Always a great time. I will miss him dearly and will be praying for his family. I will surely miss you Ole Friend.  Till Valhalla!

Friendships developed throughout the most difficult of times are the most meaningful yet hardest to describe to those who haven’t lived a similar reality. Serving with Brent, mobilizing and deploying with him for those 18 months created a bond that lasts no matter how often we spoke or saw each other. He tried his best to put out a grizzled and tough persona, but he wasn’t good at it. Those that knew him knew that he had a huge heart, that he loved his friends, family and country and he really made me laugh harder than just about anyone I’ve known. Brother I’ll miss you and I’ll pray for your family. “Old Soldiers never die, they just fade away.”

Brent was a wonderful husband, father and friend.  He enjoyed life to the fullest. He never met a stranger—he could talk to anyone and make them feel like family.  His beautiful blue eyes always had a twinkle. His smile and the sound of his laughter will be missed.  You will be forever in our hearts.

Brent always had a quick wit about him. An ability to see and understand things I would miss. He could understand a place, a person when he first walked in a room. He probably sized me up pretty accurately the first time he met me. 

He was my first supervisor in the Army,  and mentored me my entire career. He ecouraged me to join the Ibew, and had words of encouragement when i was ready to quit.  I’m really grateful to have been both a brother in arms and in the Brotherhood. 

Once at Ft Hood, I was supposed to leave on an early flight to Iraq before most of the unit. After several days of delays and lodging issues we had to check back into the barracks while our bags were still loaded on the plane. I had only a small travel bag with shave kit, toothbrush and a couple personal items. Brent was kind enough to lend me some clothes so i could get my laundry done. Our plane kept breaking down during the trip, and a 20 hr flight ended up taking about 8 days. Luckily i had Brent’s freebies to wear, but he’s at least 2 sizes smaller than me. So for 4-5 days ive got the world’s tightest socks, tshirt and underwear on walking around like a penguin. 

Brent gave more than just the shirt of his back for me, and more than just once. He passed on a lot to me, and I’ll pass that on to my children. 

Brother, I’m praying for your family, all of them, who have all been as family to mine. May you rest easy, and smile down on us.

We made a lot of good memories that I'll  never forget. Having you as a friend  was a privilege and a honor. R.I.P. brother I'm going to miss you. 

One of the best men I have ever in my life  had the opportunity to meet.  Brent was a true American!  He loved his family and what he did for a living.   He and I had many drinks and times we talked about family and our love for what we did.  He touched me in more ways than I had ever known and he will be missed more than I could ever imagined!
