Donald "Donnie" Ray Woods Sr.

He was born on May 2, 1946 in Covington, Kentucky to the late Gladys Evelyn (Waits) and Herbert Henry Woods.

Donnie was a bus driver for Oldham County Schools, enjoying driving for field trips and his Goshen kids. He was a member of the Scottish Rite, Shriners and the Masonic Lodge; earning his 32nd degree where he participated in the Fortitude Lodge 47 and Beuchel 896. Donnie became a Kentucky Colonel in 2018 and was a past cub scout leader. Donnie enjoyed making kids smile playing Santa in the Oldham County area for many families.

He is preceded in death by his siblings; Edward Ray Woods, Larry Herbert Woods and Phoeba Ann Brady.

Left to cherish the memory of Donnie are his sons; Donald Ray Woods Jr. and Christopher "Shane" Woods, 2 grandchildren; Christopher William Woods and Jessica Dawn Woods, 4 step-children, 4 great-grandchildren; Waylon Ray Woods, Jayden, Dakota and Alea Frazier, siblings; Darrell Joseph Woods (Donna Jo) and Linda Sue Nichols, many nieces and nephews, many step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren, extended family and friends.

A celebration of Donnie's life will be held at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 706 W Jefferson St, LaGrange, KY on Wednesday July 13, 2022 at Noon with burial to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens East in Louisville, KY. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10am until the start of the Masonic Service at 11:45am immediately preceding the celebration of life.
