Doris Jean Swafford

Born on September 26, 1938, in Flint, Michigan, Doris was the beloved daughter of the late Herbert and Bertha Samples.

Doris found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She absolutely loved the beach, especially Anna Maria Island, where she made many treasured memories. She was an avid reader, enjoyed going out to eat, and never turned down a good margarita shared with family or friends. Doris also found friendship and companionship with her second family at Richwood Nursing Home, where she was deeply loved by both the staff and fellow residents.

Doris is preceded in death by her siblings, Sylvia Chailland, Charles Matheny and David Samples

She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory: her children, Kristine Burton (Billy), Walter Swafford, Billy Swafford (Lisa) and Allen Swafford (Robin).

She was a proud grandmother to Parker, Connor, Crystal, Carrie, Angela, Joyce, and Amber, and was also blessed with many more grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom brought great joy to her life.

Doris will be remembered for her love of family, her appreciation for life's simple pleasures, and the many lives she touched throughout her years. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
