Very moved to hear of Ed's passing, and I offer my condolences to his family. The issues that kept us apart do not seem important now.

To all the friends and family of Ed, I was deeply saddened to hear the news about Ed.  We have been away for two weeks so I couldn't attend the service.  I want you to know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers.  I have such fond memories of Ed.  Judy, your wedding was the first wedding I had ever been to.  I vividly remember how the two of you looked like a prince and princess---such a handsome couple.  May the Lord give you peace and strength during this difficult time.   Bunny (Raque) Stoke

Greatest trait – unconditional love and support for his family.  We were the center of his world.

He was generous to a fault.  There was always room for one more in his home.

We jokingly told him his mind was full of useless trivia!  He was volumes of information ranging from astronomy and history to animals and birds.

He loved to tell stories from his 20 years on the Louisville Police Department.  And his grandchildren loved to hear them – over and over!  Most recently he was the vice president of the Oldham County Police Merit Board.  He was honored to hold that post and enjoyed being a part of such a special organization.

He hated the hot summer weather but loved the beach.  Especially when he could share it with his family.  He kept the temperature in his house so low we called it the “Cryogenics Lab.”  His girls said they didn’t age when they came to visit!

Thanksgiving and Christmas were huge.  Thanksgiving lasted all weekend.  He had his own “light up Curry Drive” celebration on Thanksgiving night every year.  Christmas decorations began to mysteriously appear with the first frost.

His daughters and grandchildren adored him.  His son-in-laws were unintentionally left with big footsteps to fill.  But he was their staunchest supporter and bragged on them whenever given an opportunity.

His favorite vacation spot was Frankenmuth, Michigan – home of the largest Christmas store in the world.  He went there many times with his wife and various family members and friends.  He would find so many treasures he would fill the truck and still have to ship some home.

In spite of his basic gentle nature, he was never afraid to stand up for the weak and defenseless.  

Last, but not least, HE WAS ALWAYS THERE!  He was always the one you could count on no matter the situation or the inconvenience.

Dear Judy and Family,
I am so sorry that you have lost the love of your life.  He was a wonderful husband and father.  I know you will miss him and you have many wonderful memories to replay when ever you need to. 
Sorry I didn't get to come to see you and give you a big hug.
You and your family are in my prayers and when you have some time, give me a call.

I looked at the pictures and you could see the love in his eyes for all of you and he looked so proud of you all in those pictures.
