Elbert "YoYo" Riley

1937 – 2026

Elbert "YoYo" Riley, 89, of LaGrange, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2026.

He was the son of the late Robert and Maggie (Reynolds) Riley. Elbert dedicated over 40 years of his life to service station management, retiring from Swifty Oil Company in 1999. He was a 16-year member of Grace Baptist Church and a former President of the LaGrange Kiwanis Club. A lifelong beekeeper, Elbert also enjoyed his CB and Ham radio hobby, and was a devoted fan of the University of Kentucky Wildcats, the Cincinnati Reds, and horse racing.

Elbert is survived by his wife of 43 years, Ada (Storey) Riley; his children, Liska (Phillip) Coggeshall, Charlene Harty, Teresa (Danny) Ernspiker, Chris Williams, and Tim (Shirley) Williams; his grandchildren, Tricia (Phil) Bays, Suzanne Braden, Mark (Stephanie) Braden, Ashley (Tom) Davis, Bridget (Josh) Boccaccio, Leslie Williams, Phillip Coggeshall, Brenna (Tyler) Rideout, Rachel (Brad) Williams, Chris Coggeshall, Scotti (Jess) Williams, Jonathan (Megan) Fiske, Brittany Ernspiker, Jonathan Ernspiker, Dylan Williams, Jenna Conley, Jordan (Hank) Gillard, and Jacob Conley; 27 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and siblings, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Kelly Harty.

Elbert will be remembered for his warmth, his hard work, and the love he poured into his family and community. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home, La Grange, KY from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 12:00 p.m., officiated by Bro. Dave Woosley and Bro. Scott Hopkins. Burial will follow at Smithfield Baptist Church Cemetery, Smithfield, KY.

Pallbearers will be Jacob Conley, Zachary Durbin, Wyatt Durbin, Taylor Durbin, Konnor Braden and Cole Braden. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Braden, Jonathan Fiske, Dylan Williams, Blake Braden, Phillip Bays III and Brantlee Bays.
