

She was born to the late Joe Henry and Anna Louden Thomas on October 30, 1941 in Shelbyville, Kentucky.
Flora was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. She was active with the Oldham County History Center, started the Busy Bee Homemaker Club, and founded the Neighborhood Club. Flora worked at Kroger in LaGrange and Kids World over the years. She was the first black bank teller in Oldham County in 1981 for the Bank of Oldham County.
She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Betsy Thomas Saunders, Ronald Thomas, Donnie Thomas, Elmo Thomas, David Thomas and Norman Thomas.
Left to cherish the memory of Flora are her husband, James Lewis; children, Michael Lewis, Mark Lewis (Angela), Kathy Lewis, Kimberly Blackburn, and Karen Horton (Will); special nieces, Jackie Kelso (Eric) and Anna Saunders; adopted daughter, Sarah Sexton; grandchildren, Travis Lewis, Derrick Lewis (Lauren), Lilltoyria Petrie (Daniel), James Michael Lewis, Quentin Martin, Marcus Harris, Isaiah Martin, CiCada Lewis, Ryann Horton, Brookelynn Horton, Thomas Blackburn, Kaylee Blackburn, Aleayah Blackburn, Jerica Kelso, EJ Kelso, Alex Saunders, Taylor Sexton, and Elizabeth Sexton; a host of great-grandchildren; siblings; William “Billy” Thomas (Jenny), Patricia Mosby, and Kathleen Cursh-Gray, sister-in-law; Rose Thomas, many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held for Flora Ann Thomas Lewis on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 1pm at LaGrange Baptist Church, 1139 Commerce Pkwy, LaGrange, KY 40031 with burial to follow at Eminence Cemetery. The family will accept visitors from 11am until the start of the service Saturday at church and Friday evening from 4-8pm at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home, 706 W Jefferson St, LaGrange.
