

He was born to G. J. "Joe" and Joyce (Hays) Nichter in Louisville, Kentucky on May 16, 1968, the third of four kids.
Joe retired from Ford Motor Company after 32 years as a skilled trades carpenter. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Joe loved to hunt, go boating, and attend 4-wheel drive jamborees with his show truck, Aint Miss Behavin'. He was proud of his Monster Truck, Stomper, winning awards, appearing in books and magazines, and always having a blast. Joe was also a third degree black belt in karate.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Florence and Charles Nichter and Ester and Oscar Hays.
Left to cherish the memory of Joe are his wife of 35 years, Amy Thomas Nichter; daughters, Madison Nichter and Macey Picklesimer (Tyler); parents, Joe and Joyce Nichter; siblings, Julie Hofelich (Kenny), Kim Baker (Mark), and Mark Nichter (Melissa); grand-pets, many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
A mass in honor of Joe will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 502 N 5th Ave, LaGrange, KY on Friday, August 29, 2025, at 11am with burial to follow in Floydsburg Cemetery in Crestwood, Kentucky. Visitation will be on Thursday evening from 3-8pm and Friday morning from 9-10:30am at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home, 706 W Jefferson St, LaGrange, KY. There will be a prayer service during Thursday evenings visitation at 7pm.
