Helen Elizabeth Parson

She was born on April 16, 1959, in Chicago, Illinois to the late Edward Earl and Agnes Williamson Young.

She graduated from the Kentucky School for the Blind in 1977. Helen was Baptist by faith, most recently attending Worthville Baptist Church, and had a strong relationship with God. She was an avid reader, always listening to podcasts and audiobooks. Helen loved dogs and was a great dog-mom throughout her life. She was also a great neighbor, often supporting and loving on the neighborhood children when they would stop by for a Coke or to swim in the pool.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, John Young; and siblings-in-law, Lloyd Scrogham, Bufford Parson, David Parson, Keith Parson, and Kevin Parson.

Left to cherish the memory of Helen are her husband 48 years, Robert Gene Parson; sisters, Linda Prouty and Brenda Brewer; brothers, David Young and James "Eddie" Young; siblings-in-law, Brenda Moore, Betty Lyons, and Beverly Hornback; a host of nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends.

A celebration of Helen's life will be at 2pm on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home, 706 W Jefferson St, LaGrange with burial to follow in Floydsburg Cemetery in Crestwood, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 11am until the start of the service.
