Just learned of Buddy's death. Wilson & I loved him deeply & wish we could have visited y'all more. It's been SO long since we were in Westport but have such fond memories of the three years we spent there. Buddy was a dear friend & a man of God. May God's peace & comfort be yours today & always. Buddy will surely be missed in our community.  I never heard anything but kind things said about him.  He was steady as a rock - someone you could count on to help you out.  We have been praying for all of you as you grieve this great man.

Our prayers are with each of you.  We always enjoyed the special times we shared with Buddie, Barbara, Venessia, Louis and family.  We can look upward and forward with smiles and good memories.

The obituary said retired truck driver. Buddy was so much more than that to me. During the many years Buddy worked with me at Cat Tech he preformed many tasks. Mechanic,welder,equipment operator,expediter,organizer,truck driver and much more. What couldn't he do?.Buddy would take on any task I threw at him. I could give Buddy a load list with hundreds of items small to large. He would locate every item and load it all on a truck without help. I never worried if the job was being done right. Buddy was the most honest, dependable,caring, hard working person I've ever met.I could count on Buddy to come running anytime I needed help day or night. I wish there were more Buddy Long's cause the world would be a better place. Everyone loved him. Buddy was my coworker but more importantly Buddy was my friend! Buddy Long was a fine man and I am proud to have known him! Heaven is a better place now that Buddy has arrived! I know he is giving warm greetings and shaking hands with a smile!

Our community has lost a fine man but God has received an angel.  Prayers for the family
