

James Ray "J.R." Stunson, 71, of LaGrange, Kentucky, passed away on March 27, 2025. Born in Bardwell, Kentucky on November 13, 1953. He grew up in Carlisle County before moving to Oldham County in 1978.
J.R. was a hard-working and dedicated man who spent much of his life working the land. He started as a ranch hand at Derby Farms, which later became The Grandell Farm in Ballardsville, and then transitioned to working at Joe Clark’s Rock Quarry in LaGrange, Kentucky. In 1993, he married Kellee Crum, and together they built a life filled with love and laughter. J.R. became a skilled heavy equipment operator and found his true passion in working on farm tractors, a career he pursued starting in 2008. Through this business, he made countless friendships. He was also very Patriotic and honored his Flag and Country.
J.R. is survived by Kellee, Mike and Sheila; and a host of extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.
A visitation for J.R. will be held Monday, March 31, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 706 W Jefferson St, Lagrange, KY 40031. A Celebration of life for J.R will be held Tuesday, April 1, 2025 beginning at 10:30am with visitation beginning at 9:30am until the start of the service. Burial to follow at Smithfield Cemetery.
Refreshments will be served at Kenny & Patti Powells residence, 2300 W Elder Park Road, LaGrange, KY 40031 following the Committal Service at Smithfield Cemetery.
