She was born to the late Walter Fred and Thelma Ellen (Lingenfelter) Whitson in Louisville, Kentucky on September 13, 1947.
Janet loved Elvis and spending time in the casino or on the houseboat in the Ohio River with family. Traveling to Gulf Shores was always a delight for her and Harry.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Harry Lee Bodenheimer; and daughter, Christy Riederer.
Left to cherish the memory of Janet are her children, Walter Brian Bodenheimer (Tara), Todd N Bodenheimer (Jannah), Paul Douglas Bodenheimer (Kerry), and Michele Salisbury (John); 14 grandchildren, Zac, Taylor, Jazmyn, Derek, Michael, Emily, Nick, Ryan, Jordan, Weslee, Dylan, Wyatt, Chloe and Micah; best friend, Kate Hahn; extended family, and many friends.
A celebration of Janet's life will be held at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home, 706 W Jefferson St, LaGrange on Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at 2pm with burial to follow in Valley of Rest Cemetery in LaGrange. Visitation will be from 11am until the start of the service.
