

She was born to the late Eugene and Thelma (Tingle) Skelton in Shelby County, Kentucky on February 1, 1947 and grew up in Pleasureville, KY and Port St. Joe, FL.
Jean worked as a Corrections Officer, even getting to help in New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina. Above all Jean loved being a mom, helping to raise her children and grandchildren, who affectionately called her Granny.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Teddy Arnold; and brother, Gary Wayne Skelton.
Left to cherish the memory of Jean are her children, John Lewis, Thomas Cecil (Ester), Michael Cecil (Lisa), Cynthia Rigdon (Terry), and Bryan Cecil (Dawn); 16 grandchildren, Marybeth, Sarah, Tucker (Connie), Lao, Ariel, Sol, Mark (Jacquline), Nick, Luke, Jack, Zachary (Cheyenne), Sam (Sarah), Savannah, Braxton, Logan, and Ryan; 7 great-grandchildren, brother, Ronald Skelton (Sharon); sister, Catherine "Kitty" Miller; extended family, and friends.
A private celebration of Jean’s life will be held in the future as the family fulfills her final wishes.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be directed to a cause she donated to annually, the Oldham County Schools Nutrition Services Department to assist students in need and clear negative balances by calling 502-241-3500.
