Joann Elizabeth Emery

Upon graduation from Oldham County High School, class of 1954, she entered the workforce at Belknap Hardware in Louisville. It was there she met one J.W. Emery. He was smitten and so they were wed on January 26, 1957.

She loved working with children. She was a longtime Co-Director of Prelude Preschool, Louisville, KY. In retirement she took to sewing clothes for premature babies.

She was a fifty-two year-member of Westport Rd. Baptist Church, Louisville, KY, and a devoted follower of Jesus.

Joann was preceded in death by her parents and siblings. She is survived by her husband of 69-1/2 years, J.W. Emery, son Clark and his wife Mary Emery of Bethel, OH, granddaughter Audrey and her husband Tyler Huck of Berry, KY, grandson Dallas and his wife Katie Emery of Falmouth, KY, grandson Marshall Emery of Butler, KY, and great-granddaughters Presley and Oaklynn Emery.

Visitation will be on Saturday, 15 August, 2026, 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home, LaGrange, KY. Funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m. with interment at Valley of Rest Cemetery, LaGrange, KY.
