JW was well-known for his many professional endeavors. He was an insurance broker for JW Hall & Sons and Insurance Associates, a company he helped flourish since 1957. For over 60 years, he was a member of the South Oldham Lions Club and a founding member of the Oldham County Country Club. He served as Board Secretary for Oldham County Planning and Zoning for more than 25 years and was a member and Board Secretary of the South Oldham Fire Department and Rescue Squad.
JW deeply enjoyed his Sunday Bible Study alongside his lifelong friends at Crestwood Christian Church, where he served as an Elder.
JW also valued philanthropic work, being one of three founding members of the Peyton Samuel Head Family Trust, which has been responsible for gifts to benefit Oldham County endeavors. He also enjoyed his involvement with the Oldham County History Center.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Rose Ethel (Wittwer) Hall, and siblings, Carolyn Leet and Jimmy Hall.
Left to cherish his memory are his sons Steve Hall (Karen) and Jay Hall (Debbie), grandchildren Stephanie Barrett (George), Hannah Hall, and Zac Hall, numerous nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends.
A celebration of JW's life will be held at Crestwood Christian Church on Monday, December 20, 2021 at 11 am, with burial to follow at Floydsburg Cemetery in Crestwood, KY. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 1-5 pm at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home in LaGrange, KY and Monday morning from 9:30 to 11 am at the church. Memorial donations in JW's memory can be made to Crestwood Christian Church or the Oldham County History Center.
