Judy is now rejoicing with her husband on a much-needed vacation on a heavenly lake filled with big crappie, monster bluegill, and line pulling bass.
Judy Broome was born October 29, 1953 in Louisville Kentucky. Judy was the third child to Henry and Beulah (Bishop) Broome. Siblings of Judy include her two older brothers Eddie and Billy, and sister Patricia whom is the youngest. Judy was a graduate of Atherton in 1972, then completed Mr. John’s Beauty School in 1973. On October 12, 1973 she married Air Force Veteran Kenneth James Cronin. After a short-lived working career, Judy converted over to a full-time homemaker to raise her children Scott Allen Cronin and Kevin Paul Cronin. Her son Scott married Morgan Lynn Clark giving Judy Addyson Grace Cronin and Kevin married Megan Lynn Rabold who gave her Emmy Grace Cronin and Kylie Nicole Cronin. She cherished her grandchildren more than anything in this world.
If you knew Judy, you knew how unique she was. She had endless amounts of love, was full of energy, and had many talents. She loved crafting, quilt making, cooking, photography, or just fostering others who were not her own flesh and blood. She was always giving. Many would agree Judy never stopped, but she sincerely did everything for others even when she didn’t have to. No matter if she was dancing in the kitchen, cooking a wonderful meal, or smiling over an ironing board, she was always happy to do for others. Judy absolutely loved the outdoors no matter if it was a simple campfire, camping, viewing wildlife, fishing, or walking in beach sand. She was perfect at everything she did in the many roles she served. She was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, friend, citizen, and mentor.
As her son, mentioning writing an obituary for my mom may seem a little different but that’s ok with me. My mother taught me to be me, and she supported us boys through the challenges and achievements like no other. It has been an extremely hard time for my brother and I. We lost our father unexpectedly April 7, 2023. Mom and Dad would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year. Mom was joined by Kevin, Morgan, and myself at the time of her death. The quality of life mom had in her most recent days allowed us to accept that at a young age of 70 years she would become one of God’s greatest guardian angels. We are happy that mother is rejoicing and enjoying eternal life with her love again. We all love her so much, and value so greatly what she taught us no matter how we each knew her. The world is an ever so changing place, but will always need special individuals like our mother Judy. Mom, may your days be filled with hummingbirds, gardening, laughter, and time with dad until we all see you again. No words intentionally put together will ever describe how valuable you were, or how much you will be missed.
A memorial gathering for Judy will be held Saturday, December 30, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 706 W Jefferson St, LaGrange, Kentucky, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM.
