She was born in Joplin, Missouri, on January 24, 1951, to the late Floyd Carl Johnson and Mary Ann Johnson. Karen grew up in Owensboro, KY, was a graduate of Daviess County High School, and earned her nursing degree from Henderson Community College. Immediately following college, Karen began her nursing career, which allowed her to beautifully touch the lives of so many people in Florida for over twenty years and, most recently, eight years at Baptist Health Hospital in LaGrange, KY.
Karen was a devoted mother who spent many years as the biggest cheerleader for her children and then grandchildren at all types of sporting events. She found joy in watching college football and basketball, gardening, cooking, and traveling with friends and family. Her faith, beautiful smile, and infectious laugh were memorable to all who knew her.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 31 years, Norman R. Kuckuck; adoring children Matt Wink (Beth) of Bowling Green, KY; Melissa Davis (Jeff) of Rockport, IN; Kristen Bohannon (Brent) of LaGrange, KY; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her mother Mary Ann; her brother Kevin Johnson (Linda), a niece Jody Johnson, and many friends.
Public visitation will be at South East Christian Church, LaGrange campus on Sunday, September 20, from 4 to 6 PM with a service to follow.
Memorial donations can be made to Hosparus Health of Lousiville in Karen’s name.
