

She was born to the late William Butler and Martha Anglin Gadd on January 4, 1934 in Wildie, KY. Her family moved from Wildie to Prospect, KY and as a young adult she attended a square dance at Lake Louisvilla (developed in the 1920s as a summer resort area) with her brother Earl, where she met her future husband, Coleman.
Margie was sweet, kind, gentle, and caring. She devoted her life to caring for her family above all else. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She attended Ballardsville Baptist Church, where she spent many years volunteering, preparing meals for gatherings and helping with vacation bible school during the summers.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Coleman Covington; daughter, Sharon Bayler; son-in-law Mike Bayler; and son, Kevin Covington; along with her parents and her brothers James, Oscar, Cluster, Henry, Marion, Earl, Bill, Russell, and sister Edna.
Left to cherish the memory of Margie is her son, Darrell Covington (Tina); daughter-in-law Mary Covington; grandchildren, Karen Carby (Scott), Matthew Covington, Andrew Jones, Cassandra Covington and Daniel Covington; great-grandchildren, Iris and Quinn Carby; sister-in-law Dorothy Gadd (Bill), and extended family and friends.
A celebration of Margie's life will be held on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home, 706 W Jefferson St, LaGrange, KY 40031 with burial to follow at Valley of Rest Cemetery in LaGrange. Visitation will be held from Noon until the start of the service.
Memorial donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Margie's memory.
