She was born to the late Lebert and Lina Martin on July 3, 1938 in Louisville, Kentucky.
Marita was a clerical worker by trade.
She is preceded in death by her parents and husband of 39 years; Charles Wood.
Left to cherish the memory of Marita are her children; Elizabeth "Beth" Cartwright and husband, Kevin and Darren Wood and wife, Olga, 2 granddaughters; Irena Sokolova-Villar and Megan Westphal, and 3 sisters; Sylvia Kessler, Delores Gates, and Rebecca Larson.
A funeral service for Marita will be held at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home on Thursday, January 25 at 11am with burial to follow at Valley of Rest in LaGrange, Kentucky. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4-8pm on Wednesday evening.
