Mary Kathleen Burgain Day

Mary Kathleen (Burgain) Day, age 85 of LaGrange passed away peacefully on October 20, 2013. She was originally from Bloomfield, Kentucky and was the daughter of the late John B. and Ruth Naomi (Ashby) Burgain.

Mary "Kathleen" had a heart of gold and found happiness in helping others. She had worked at two different flower shops in Ballardsville and New Castle. She also volunteered and worked for Red Cross Chapter in LaGrange. She was a wonderful wife, a caring mother of three sons, a grandmother of five and a great-grandmother of two. Family meant the world to Mary "Kathleen". She was a member of LaGrange Christian Church.

She is survived by her husband, James Howard Day of 68 years; three sons: William E. (Debra); James Carlisle "Sonny" and Glenn Mack; grandchildren: Kristopher Glenn, Kyle Lee, Kevin Mack, Erin Kathleen True (Andrew David) and Jonathan Blake; and great-grandchildren: Dean Kyser and Keenan Anderson True.

A Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home with burial in Valley of Rest Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 22.
