He was born to John and Elsie (Barr) Carter on October 26, 1963 in Louisville.
Max was a race car enthusiast, holding the “Fastest streetcar in America” record in 1992 with his red 1967 Nova. He was also featured in Hot Rod Magazine several times in his racing career and after and was inducted into the Kentucky Motorsports Hall of Fame in 2021 with his dad John Carter.
He is preceded in death by his dad, John Max Carter and brother, John Lance Carter.
Left to cherish the memory of Max are his daughter, Carson Elizabeth Carter; mom, Elsie Carter; sister, Jessica Carter Iovenko; nephew, Ezra Iovenko; sister-in-law, Cathy Carter; his beloved pets, Smurfy and Deebo; extended family and many friends.
A celebration of Max's life will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 1pm at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home, 706 W Jefferson ST, LaGrange, KY 40031. There will be a time of gathering from 12-4 in conjunction with the service.
