Maxine Reva Dolin
December 21, 1931 – April 8, 2018
Dolin, Maxine Reva (Casto), 86, of LaGrange returned to her Heavenly Father on April 8, 2018.
Maxine was born in Charleston, West Virginia and grew up in Cross Lanes, WV. Maxine’s mother, Tressie Casto, was a young widow and raised five children on her own.
Maxine married Owen E. Dolin, her husband of 67 years. While married with three children, she supported her husband as he attended college. She was a wonderful mother and homemaker. She kept a meticulous house and she enjoyed shopping for her family. Christmas, Easter and all other holidays were special to Maxine as the family came together. Through the years, Maxine and her husband were blessed with many good friends. Church was an important part of their family and her most recent membership was with the Covenant United Methodist Church in LaGrange where her son, Owen L. Dolin, was pastor for 9 years.
Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Owen E. Dolin; her daughter, Linda Rhodes; and her grandson, Clint Colquitt. Also, preceding her in death were her siblings: Bud Casto, Jenny Garrett, Oshel Casto and Eddie Casto.
Maxine will be greatly missed by her family members: her daughter, Gloria Ellis (Clay); and her son, Owen L. Dolin (Ann). She has seven grandchildren: Erin Sharp (Andrew), Jonathan Ellis, Mark Ellis, Andy Colquitt (Lisa), Matt Dolin, Brad Dolin and Christine Dolin Taylor (Neal). She had three great grandchildren: Faith, Steven and Linda.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 12th from 5-8pm at the Covenant United Methodist Church, 909 W. Jefferson Street, LaGrange, KY and after 10am on Friday. Service will be Friday at 11am, also at the church. Entombment will be at the Louisville Memorial Gardens East.
