Paul James Chappell Jr. 71, of LaGrange, passed away on Monday, December 2, 2019.

He was a member of First Baptist Church of LaGrange, a Mason and LaGrange Fire Department Auxiliary. Paul worked for Tredegar.

Preceding him in death was his parents, Paul Sr. and Idella Chappell; sister, Kathy Chappell; brother, Donny Chappell.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Brenda Browning Chappell; sons, Michael Chappell (Sherry) and John Chappell (Donna); brothers, Larry Chappell (Darlene) and Raymond Chappell (Rhoda); sisters, Brenda M. Chappell, Linda Chappell, and Anita Haliburton (Richard); grandchildren, Alex (Nelson Sr.), Adia (Erica), Addrianna (Miguel), Kayla Mae, Andy, Alexus, John Jr., Kiki, Chloe, Christina and C.C.; great grandchildren, Sarah Grace, Elijah, Nelson Jr. and Noviea.

A Homecoming Service will be conducted at 1 PM on Friday, December 6, 2019, at First Baptist Church of LaGrange, with burial to follow in Valley of Rest Cemetery. Visitation at the church from 11 AM-1 PM on Friday.

Paul was like a second father to me as a kid growing up in Kentucky my second mom Brenda and my brothers Mike and John I always called him pops and he always called me son from day one .he was a great loving and caring father He always had a smile on his face and always had a chuckle and laughter I never see him get mad I will never forget him I love you pops I will see you again In the promised land God has his purpose for you I love you mom and mike and John and all the Chappell family 🙏🏻❤️
