Sarah Ann Parks

She was born to the late Joseph and Cecelia Niemann on May 4th, 1928 in Effingham Illinois.

She was the 2nd child of nine in their close knit family.

Sarah was a loving mother to her 4 children. She worked for over 20 years as the office

manager and bookkeeper for Wagner Pontiac-Jeep in Iowa City, IA. She liked reading, bowling,

and playing Scrabble or cards with family. In her retirement, she made over 900 baby quilts that

she gave away to relatives, friends and charities. She was a devoted member of the Catholic

Church.

Sarah is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Cecelia Niemann, siblings Sr Irene

Niemann, Jeanette Ferrick, Margaret Niemann, John Niemann, Mary Conlon, and Barbara

Reedy.

Left to cherish her memory are her sisters Caroline Braun and Sr Josephine Niemann, son Karl

Parks, his wife Gigi and grandsons Daniel and Sean, daughter Kathy Lightbody and her

husband Kirk, daughter Betsy Roup, her husband Mark and grandchildren Michael, Rachael

and husband Johnny Panaccione, Marcus and Bethany, son Larry Parks and wife Laura Dowd,

and many nieces and nephews across the country.
