

He was born to the late Lester Sylvester and Dorothy (Chalk) Tubbs in Phoenix, Arizona on Tuesday, September 9, 1947.
Steve was a skilled football and baseball player and enjoyed boxing. He was a 'wild' child, and his playful spirit carried into adulthood, being the ever-fun prankster and enjoyed having a good time.
His family moved from Arizona to Arkansas in 1964, starting his love for farming and racing quarter horses. Later he enjoyed taking care of thoroughbred horses and providing transportation from race to race.
Steve was a member of Sligo Baptist Church. He was also a proud United States Army Veteran having served in Vietnam where he earned a Purple Heart and Bronze Star. Steve was an avid Xbox player, enjoying Call of Duty where he made friends all over the world.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Edith Tubbs; son, William Michael "Mikey" Tubbs; and his siblings, Butch Tubbs, Jimmy Tubbs, Samuel Tubbs, and Patricia Eubanks.
Left to cherish the memory of Steve are his sons, Brad Tubbs (Carrie) and Stephen Tubbs (Kyla); daughter, Isabella Rose Tubbs; grandchildren, Lane Tubbs (Chelsey), Dawson Stauffer, Cydney Tubbs, Skyler Tubbs, Kaydence Ward, Willow Tubbs, Tyson Tubbs, Alexander Tubbs, Aspyn Tubbs, and Celeste Tubbs; great-grandchildren, Bennett Tubbs, Charlotte Tubbs, and Heston Lay; extended family, and many friends.
A graveside service with Army military honors will be held on Monday, July 27, 2026, at Valley of Rest Cemetery, 325 S 1st St, LaGrange, Kentucky 40031 at 2pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Steve's memory can be directed to Sligo Baptist Church.
