Born to the late Omar Fleming Biddle and Hazel Ruth Wilson on March 19, 1954 in Lexington, KY.
Sylvia devoted meaningful time and care to the Girl Scouts of America troop 925, serving as Troop Leader for her daughter’s troop.
Sylvia found joy in collecting model lighthouses, a pastime she acquired through annual travels to the Outer Banks, NC. She also participated in the Pride of Kentucky Chorus, where she loved to sing for many years.
Sylvia was preceded in death by daughter, Rebecca Joy Biddle Burke; and husband, John Douglas Burke. She is survived by son, Brett Alexander Burke (Tina); family friend and caregiver Edith Swinford; brother, Erwin "Monty" Biddle; nephew, Andy; and niece, Heather.
A Graveside Service will be held at Valley of Rest Cemetery, 1411 E Crystal Dr, La Grange, KY 40031, US, on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 1:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made on Sylvia’s behalf to St. Jude's Children Hospital.
