He was born to Thomas Arthur Sr. and Gail Lynn Lewis Petschke on May 25, 1970 in Buffalo, New York.
Tom has a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Iowa, a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Clarkson University and an Associate in Science from Erie Community College. He successfully owned and operated Industrial Turnkey Solutions and created Petschke Pick, a personally rewarding business with a local flavor. Prior to owning his own businesses, Tom spent many years as a project manager and plant manager for several multinational companies. Strong in faith, he was a member at Holy Trinity Lutheran of LaGrange, a Sergeant with Ballardsville Fire Department serving since 2014, and a member of the South Oldham Rotary. Tom had his private pilot's license and a passion for anything with wheels.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, father; Thomas Petschke Sr., and father-in-law; Kurt Alverson.
Left to cherish the memory of Tom are his beloved wife of 29 years; Colleen Alverson Petschke, children; Matthew and Megan Petschke, mother; Gail Petschke, sisters; Cheryl Steffan (Peter) and Christine Ruffner (Alan), mother-in-law; Elizabeth Alverson, sister-in-law; Lori Goorman (Koen), nieces and nephews; Kaitlin Smith (Jeremiah), Elena Doce (Kyle), Kyle Ruffner (Allissa), Brandon and Joshua Ruffner, Alex and Elissa Goorman, great-niece and nephew; Eleanor and Elijah Smith, extended family and many friends.
A funeral service will be held for Tom on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at 11am at Southeast Christian Church Crestwood Campus, 6220 Crestwood Station, Crestwood, KY 40014. Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home, 706 W Jefferson St, LaGrange, KY 40031 from 5-7pm. Tom's private burial will take place in Acacia Park, 4215 Tonawanda Creek Rd, North Tonawanda, NY 14120 following a 1pm service Monday, November 20, 2023 at Perna-Dengler-Roberts Funeral Home, 1671 Maple Rd, Williamsville, NY 14221. A public visitation will be held at Perna-Dengler-Roberts starting at Noon until the start of the service.
