A graduate of Ohio State University, he was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, a lifetime member of the Kentucky Veterinary Medical Association, a World War II U.S. Army Air Forces veteran, and an honorable Kentucky Colonel.
He began his avid interest in horses during his large-animal veterinary practice; his career led him to the position of head veterinarian in charge of the Bourbon Stock Yards, Louisville, Ky. The move from the western states brought him closer to his birthplace of Cincinnati and the beautiful Bluegrass region of Kentucky.
Thomas was preceded in death by his wife, Bernadette (nee Murray) and his son, Patrick Thomas Quinlan.
Survivors include his children: Terrence E. Quinlan, Daniel R. Quinlan (Linda), Mary Kay Purcell (Gerald), Lynn Marie Fowler (Joseph) and daughter-in-law Constance Quinlan; 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
His family members want to share that they were blessed as he was a loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandpa, and great grandpa. His greatest gift was teaching his family the importance of love, loyalty and character.
Funeral Mass will be conducted at 9:00 AM on Saturday, June 14, 2014, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in LaGrange, Ky. with burial to follow in Valley of Rest Cemetery.
Visitation from 4-8 PM Friday at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be given to Disabled American Veterans.
