Velma was born on April 25, 1944, in Louisville, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Thelma Favreau and Ray Favreau. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Frankie and her brother Ricky.
Velma made her home in Oldham County, Kentucky, where she spent most of her married life. She was devoted to her family, finding her greatest joy in being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved nothing more than spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, and especially her great-granddaughter, Tinley. Velma had a vibrant personality and a wonderful sense of humor—she could make anyone laugh and had a way of lighting up any room she entered.
She is survived by her beloved husband of many years, William D. Seward, and their three sons: Daniel Seward and his wife Julia, and grandchildren Olivia and Alex; Todd Seward and his wife Brandy, and grandchildren Leah and Ethan; and Shane Seward and his girlfriend Lora Stephanchick. Velma also leaves behind her great-granddaughter Tinley, along with many other family members and friends who will miss her deeply.
At the family’s request, no formal service will be held at this time. However, friends and loved ones are invited to keep Velma in their hearts, sending prayers and love to her family as they remember her life and legacy.
