William "Catfish Dave" David Gordon

He was born to the late Emmit and Onie (Raymer) Gordon in Louisville, Kentucky on March 22, 1954. David was one of twelve children and was raised in Oldham County by Onie and Levi Hensley.

David enjoyed camping, but his favorite activity was fishing - anywhere he could cast a pole and fish would bite. You could find David at the Peddlers Mall or Flea Market hopping on the weekends. He loved to buy, sell, and trade - a good sale was one of his favorite things.

He took pride in being a hard worker, enjoying his time at Meadowland Farms as the Farm Manager. David loved landscaping, flower beds, the lawn, and generally caring for the land.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Tami Leigh Gordon; stepson; Joseph Burch; and many siblings.

Left to cherish the memory of David are his wife of 28 years, Wanda Valentine; daughter, Brandi Gordon; stepsons, Michael Valentine (Bobbie) and Kenneth Valentine; grandchildren, Hailey Marie Greenwell, Taylor Renee Greenwell, Nicholas Valentine (Tabby), and Shane Valentine; great-grandchildren, Kamarie, Charlie, and Aurora; siblings, Levi Hensley Jr. (Paulette), Ray Hensley, Nellie Sue Hensley; Teresa Milburn (Mitch), and Gayle Gordon; beloved furbaby, Trixie; extended family, and friends.

A time to celebrate the life of David will be held at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home, 706 W Jefferson St, LaGrange, KY 40031 on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, from 4-8pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in David's memory to your local humane society.
