Kenny loved fishing, hunting, collecting knives, and shooting. He was especially passionate about Shooting Sports and generously shared that passion as an Oldham Co 4-H Shooting Sports Coach for over 30 years. His dedication to the program and the youth he coached was recognized with a Lifetime Achievement Award. Kenny loved spending time with his grandchildren, playing poker with friends, and traveling out west with his wife Karen.
Kenny is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 51 years, Karen Smith; his children, Kellee Gibbs (Brent), Kurk Smith, and nephew Chris Rahm (Sharon); his grandsons, Levi Gibbs, Luke Gibbs, and Jett Gibbs, and his siblings, Regina Satterly, Patricia Goins (Curtis), and James Smith.
Visitation will be held at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home, 706 W Jefferson St, Lagrange, KY 40031, on Friday, August 28, 2026, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, followed by a Funeral Service beginning at 1:00 pm. Burial to follow at Valley of Rest Cemetery in LaGrange.
Donations in Kenny's name can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
