Ace Daniel

The son of Lucille and Howard Daniel, Ace was born on July 4, 1942, in Gladewater, Texas. Born on Independence Day, Ace was affectionately known by his grandmother as her little firecracker. He graduated from Gladewater High School before attending Texas A&M University, where he was a member of the Aggie swim team. During his high school and college years, he worked in the family business, Spencer Harris Machine and Tool Company, before pursuing a career in finance. He became a broker with E F Hutton and later became a member of the New York Commodity Exchange, and was a floor trader in New York City. He enjoyed the challenge and excitement of the financial markets and built a successful career doing what he loved.

Ace enjoyed many activities over the years. He was an accomplished bowler, loved swimming and water skiing, enjoyed hunting and had a lifelong passion for golf. Golf became especially meaningful because it was something he and his beloved wife, Monica, shared together. They spent countless happy hours on golf courses around the country. Ace enjoyed telling people that he taught Monica how to play golf, a claim that was often debated within the family. Ace dearly loved his Golden Retrievers, Winston, Travis and Bailey and his rescue Doodle, Cooper. They brought him endless joy and companionship.

He was a proud Texan and was happy to return to his home state after retiring.

Ace is survived by Monica, his wife of 44 years, his daughters Candace Frits (Kent) and Marti Daniel, his sisters Sherry Robbins (Larry) and Debra Estrada (Frank), his sister-in-law Marcia Jorden (Michael) and brother-in-law Robert (Sheri) his grandchildren Zachary Anderson (Makayla), John Anderson, Jason Anderson, Christopher Anderson, Matthew Anderson (Whitney), Cameron Moats, Jordan Moats and Olivia Moats and four great-grandchildren, Levi, Judah, Kennedy and James Anderson, nieces Janice Szegedi (Ernie), Therese Sadowski (Steve), Lee Fuller and Lauren Jorden, and nephews Paul Jorden and Lee Robbins (Keisha).
