

Alicia Maria Westlake [De Los Santos] of Austin passed away peacefully into the tender care of our Lord on the evening of September 20th, 2014. She was born on December 16th, 1934 in Harlingen Texas, where she met the love of her life, Air Force airman, Richard A. Westlake. Alicia a beloved mother, wife, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend, died in Austin surrounded by her husband, daughter [Christine] and son-in-law [Allen]. Alicia was a joy to everyone she knew, even if only for a moment. Her sweet smile lured many a friend into endless conversations.
Family meant everything to her and she always put the family first. Alicia's passion for her family was undeniable. She enjoyed preparing Thanksgiving feasts. In fact, every year for the last 10 years, "was going to be the last". There are many good things to be said for Alicia, but not enough time or space. Alicia was a Christian from a very young age and loved the Lord. She believed in the power of prayer.
Alicia is survived by her husband of 61 years, Richard; her children Deborah Laurito [Bob], Diana Martin [Bruce], Christine Shelton [Allen] and Richard Westlake Jr.[Ira]; grandchildren Ryan & Elly Nowroozi; Jennifer & Bob McKenzie; Lisa DeArment; Marc & Vanessa Laurito; Nicholas & Ashlee Laurito; Jeffery & Anna Laurito; great-grandchildren, Blake, Alexa, Kayla, Dillon McKenzie; Olivia, Tristan, Dakota, Ethan, Christopher Laurito; two sisters, Mary Helen Cano; Penny Fiedler [Steve]; brother, Arturo De Los Santos and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express its gratitude to the staff at Emeritus Senior Living at Kingwood, 24025 Kingwood Place Drive, for "Ms. Alicia's" care, therapy and love. Their services and care was the best!
Alicia's family and friends may want to share some stories. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 7:00pm to 9:00 pm on Friday, September 26th at First Baptist Church Porter, to share stories and honor her memory.
