Barbara Labardini

Barbara was born to Bernard Leo and Mary Catherine Stephan on August 1, 1938 in Cedar Rapids, IA. She married Dr. Mario Marcelo Labardini on September 14, 1968 in Ann Arbor, MI while both attending the University of Michigan. The married couple moved to Mexico City, Mexico where Barbara's adventurous spirit helped her to embrace a new language and culture. She returned to the United States in 1977, moving to Denison TX where they raised their two children. Retirement and family brought them to Austin, TX.

Her love for travel and art took her to many wonderful places all around the world. She touched all that knew her in her own special way with laughter, love and gift of conversation.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law George W. Alderman.

She is survived by her loving husband Mario, daughter Caterina Jakubowski (Christopher); son Marcelo Labardini (Nur); grandchildren Luca and Lara Labardini; siblings Mary Jean Alderman, Patricia Worthy (Thomas), Bernard Stephan (Arline), Kathryn Marshall (Joseph C "Tuck") and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her honor to the Susan B. Komen foundation for Breast Cancer or the Kimbell Art Museum.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 17th at Emmaus Catholic Church, 1718 Lohmans Crossing in Lakeway.
