Becky Jill Gallegos

Becky Jill Gallegos died July 12, 2010 in her home in Fredericksburg, TX. Becky was born in Cleburne, TX and was raised in Shreveport, LA. She earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Louisiana State University. Becky raised her two sons in Dallas, TX. She taught preschool, bred prize-winning horses and recently retired to Fredericksburg.

Becky is survived by her parents, Jim and Janelle Balentine; her sister and brother-in-law, Cindy and Donnie Kahre; her sister and her sister's partner Kathy Balentine and Barbara Sowers; her brother and sister-in-law, Randy and Karen Balentine; her son, James; her son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Shannon; her granddaughter, Camilla and numerous nieces and nephews.

Becky's joy and kindness will be missed by all who loved her. She was a loving and devoted mother, aunt, sister and proud new grandmother. She wrote children's books and poems in her spare time and enjoyed spending time with her dog, Pepper.

A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 17th at Lake Travis United Methodist Church at 1502 RR 620 North, Austin, TX 78734, with a reception following at the church.

Becky will be buried in a private burial at Hudson Bend Cemetery in Lakeway, TX.
