Beth was born on March 18, 1948, in Del Rio, Texas, to Bill Dow Ward and Eloise Davis Ward. She spent her early years on the family ranch in Juno, Texas, where she developed a love for wide open spaces and riding horses. When her older sister outgrew the one-room schoolhouse in Juno, the family moved to Del Rio, where Beth attended school and graduated from Del Rio High School in 1965.
She went on to attend The University of Texas at Austin, where she studied marketing and proudly joined Delta Gamma sorority. The friendships she made there lasted her entire life. After college, Beth moved to Houston, where fate stepped in—she met George Beach on a blind date. Their connection was immediate, and they were married on April 4, 1970, in Houston.
Together, Beth and George raised two children, Jennifer Ray and Christopher Robert. Beth dedicated herself to creating a loving home and cherished her role as a mother. Once her children were grown, she re-entered the workforce, beginning a career in Human Resources. Driven and determined, she went on to earn her master’s degree in Human Resources from Houston Baptist University in 1997.
After completing her graduate studies, Beth and George moved to the Texas Hill Country, where she began working for AT&T in San Antonio. She retired from AT&T in 2007 and then pursued her lifelong passion for design, launching a career in interior design alongside her son, Christopher. Together, they built a successful business that blended creativity with family—something Beth treasured deeply.
Of all her roles in life, Beth most loved being “BeBe.” She adored spending time with her grandchildren, Jake and Jamison, and took great joy in supporting them in all their activities, sharing stories, and creating cherished family memories.
Beth’s life was marked by warmth, dedication, and love for her family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George Beach, and her parents, Bill Dow and Eloise Ward. She is survived by her daughter Jennifer Beach Shearer and husband Simon Shearer; grandchildren Jake Cartwright and Jamison Cartwright; son Christopher Beach and husband Gregory Klar; sister Janet Ward; and many extended family members and dear friends who will carry forward her memory.
Beth will be remembered for her kindness, grace, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the beautiful spaces she created.
A graveside service for Beth will be held Saturday, August 23, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM at Driftwood Cemetery, Driftwood, TX 78619.
