Nita had an exciting time living abroad in Colombia, Spain, Africa, and Alaska for several years.
While in Beaumont, she was an active volunteer at Trinity United Methodist Church, a dedicated bridge player, and a beloved docent at the McFaddin-Ward House. After moving to Austin, she played bridge weekly into her late 80s and was a devoted member of Oak Hill United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed her Sunday school class and chair yoga.
With a grateful heart, we remember her as a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose love and kindness touched so many lives. She is survived by her daughter Linda Biskamp Buono and son-in-law John Buono; her cherished grandchildren Daniel Biskamp, Theresa Biskamp, Benjamin Loesch, Margaret Loesch, Christopher Buono, Michael Buono, and James Buono; and her great-grandchildren Liam, Peyton, Reid, Hudson, Brady, Braylen, Beckett, and Bella. Nita’s legacy of grace, warmth, and quiet strength will live on in the hearts of all who she touched.
A memorial service will be held on August 29th, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Oak Hill United Methodist Church, 7815 US 290 in Austin, Texas. A burial service will follow on August 30th at 1:00 p.m. at 4955 Pine Street in Beaumont, Texas 77703.
