Christopher Thomas Whited, 41, of Austin, passed away on April 3, 2021, while spending time at the coast enjoying one of his favorite pastimes – fishing. An unfortunate boating accident cut his life short; however, he lived his life to the fullest during his brief time on this earth.

Christopher was born on July 12, 1979, to James and Marsha Whited of Liberty Hill. He graduated from Liberty Hill High School and worked hard to start his own business in construction. As a youngster, he loved to design and build things with his hands. This interest in construction continued and Christopher loved designing, building, and watching a home come together. He expanded his business venture by also adding a landscape and supply business.

Christopher treasured the time he spent with his son, Jace. Chris was an affectionate father who managed to provide Jace with a lifetime’s worth of love in just 10 years. They even had a special way of saying I love you, “wawa.” Jace will always remember his daddy as hardworking and caring.

Christopher was an avid fisherman, hunter, and traveler. He valued family time and often planned trips and invited his family to experience these trips with him. He traditionally celebrated his birthday with his twin sister, Christie, and the entire family down at the coast for the last 30 years. Christopher also loved spending time with his friends as he never met a stranger; everywhere he passed through, people knew his name or at least his truck. Many of his friends and family can vouch for the fact that he could do anything that needed to be done. He had a big heart and was always helping others.

Christopher met the love of his life, Lexi three years ago, and fell in love with her love for Jace. Although their time on Earth together was brief, they had plans of marriage and growing old together.

Christopher was a loving father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Thomas Whited. He is survived by his son Jace; parents James and Marsha Whited; siblings James Whited and wife Tammy and children: Jillian, Grayson, Kaylee, and Lily, Christie Schuessler and husband Dennis and children: Ethan, Madison, and Marissa, Bradley Whited and Paul; the love of his life, Lexi Baldwin; grandmother Rosie Whited; ex-wife Jennifer Whited; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly.

Services will be held at the Weed-Corley-Fish funeral home in Lakeway. The family will welcome visitors on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 14,, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow at the Cook Walden Forest Oaks Memorial Park. Following the burial, there will be a celebration of Christopher’s life at Maverick’s dance hall in Buda, TX.

In lieu of flowers, the family is accepting donations to purchase side scan sonar technology; this technology was instrumental in locating Christopher and bringing him back to his family to be laid to rest. These donations will be gifted to rescue teams to help other families in the future. To donate, please visit the Go Fund Me website and search “In Memory of Christopher Whited.”

I spent quite a bit of time with Chris over the last few years training him. We had a lot of good conversations. I actually trained him the day before he went to the coast. Both having sons around the same age we had a common bond and became good friends. I will miss our sessions. I pray for peace and comfort for the family and especially for Jace and Lexi. Chris was one of the good ones. God bless you all.

I have never met Christopher, and I regret that I will never get the chance. I've worked with Marsha for five years, and there were few times I would see her as happy or light up as much as when she was talking about her sons. So I cannot imagine the pain of losing someone as bright and full of life as Christopher was.

I am deeply sorry for your loss.

I worked for Chris at the window company. Such an amazing man, father and boss. I am so heartbroken over this. There are simply no words. I feel blessed to have crossed his path and can’t wait to see him again in heaven. Jace will always be in my prayers.

My deepest sympathies to Jace, Lexi and Family for your loss!
Chris has been “My Go-To Miracle Contractor for over 20 years”! I never found a project, remodel or custom build he couldn’t manage with ease or a single client who did not fall in love with him too! Chris, thank you for all you did for others! You will be deeply missed by all, especially me! Rest In Peace my friend!

My heart is broken. Chris was one of the best humans I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. My fondest memories with Chris were always spent at my farm, where we BBQ'd, chatted on the back porch, and shot skeet almost every night for many summers. I almost stepped on a Cottonmouth once, and he immediately went up and grabbed the tractor & shredder and mowed everywhere to make sure that wouldn't happen again. Later that night we went spotlighting on the pond. We must have shot 15 snakes- one even taller than Chris- which he obviously threw at me of course. I'll have to find that picture. He had the biggest heart. Loyal friend, who did anything for those he loved. The worlds most committed & loving father. He will be dearly missed by so many people!

Rest easy Chris. Such a wonderful and caring individual that was taken from us so suddenly and way to soon. Very grateful to have known you my friend. You will be missed and will always hold a special place in our hearts.
