“Dell”, as she was known to family and friends, was born on July 5, 1938 in Duncan, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents Tom Winter Blackketter and Lula Delle Stockton. Dell received her bachelor’s degree in home economics and her master’s degree in education from the University of Oklahoma.
Dell was a woman of deep faith in the Lord, waking up early every morning to read the Bible and pray for several hours a day. She was deeply devoted to her husband of 65 years, William (Bill) Fulton, who was at her side when she passed away. Dell loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren with all her heart, never forgetting a birthday despite having so many to remember. She was always very close to her brother Warren, never passing up an opportunity to talk about his love of trains and cars. At the end of her life, she became very close to her friend and caregiver, Betty, who made her laugh to the very last day.
Dell loved music, she loved puzzles, and she loved to talk. She loved animals, and all of her dogs over the years became part of the family. She was kind, generous, and thoughtful, but most of all she was someone completely devoted to the Lord and her husband, Bill. Her love for Bill was unbounded and unwavering for 65 years of marriage. That love continues in heaven.
Dell is survived by her husband, Bill Fulton, her six children, Richard, Bekah, Carole, Cathy, Larry, and Stephen, her 26 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and her brother Warren Blackketter. A memorial service will be held at the Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home in Lakeway, Texas on Friday, September 22nd at 12:30 PM.
